We have reimagined the end-to-end experience, so renters can self-tour properties, apply, & lease inside our app. Our partners use our platform to take care of all the hassle from photos, yard sign setup, and marketing to back-office operations. Our platform gives complete visibility into every aspect of leasing.

We have raised over $14 million from top-tier investors, including Founders Fund Seed, Gigafund, NextGen Ventures, and Tim Draper. Our investors have also backed the likes of SpaceX, Tesla, and Facebook.

Role Summary: This role will be working to unlock and empower a strategic customer segment - institutional SFR operators and managers. It’s a strategic position but requires a willingness to perform operational tasks as needed. Having experience with residential real estate operators and funds is highly recommended.

  • Who are you? You should have management experience with enterprise-level accounts. You’re positive, energetic, and excited to make lives easier for your teammates and your clients. You know how to derive insights from performance data, present to key stakeholders, and grow accounts using relationship building + forecasting/goal setting + processes engineering.
  • What am I doing every day? You'll be helping our clients rent single-family homes at scale. You’ll closely monitor performance and identify then help remove blockers (e.g. capacity constraints, clear growth targets, communication failures, performance to goals, etc.). You’ll be at the nexus of identifying clear/scalable strategic workflows, overseeing smooth daily operations, and planning tactical growth.
  • How am I going to do this? In this new role, you’ll coordinate multiple teams that ensure the rental product is market-ready (e.g. priced appropriately, of quality, accessible, advertised, etc.). You’ll talk to a variety of people ranging from departmental heads to outsourced support agents. You’ll jump in to respond to national account clients where necessary and work closely with the account operation managers to ensure SLAs are hit with a dedicated focus on client outcomes.


Work Location:

This role is hybrid or remote based on your preference, though the ideal candidate would be based in Austin or NYC.


Your Team:

You’ll be part of a small group of renegades in the National Accounts team responsible for a significant portion of the company’s growth. You'll work closely with the Head of National Accounts, senior leadership, and account operations managers.


Compensation:

This role will receive market-level base and bonus compensation. The ideal candidate will also be motivated by receiving equity in a growth-stage company with tons of upside.


Why is Sunroom hiring this role now?

1. We believe SFR Institutional is going to be huge. Today only about 2% of SFR homes are owned by institutional investors. We see the landscape changing quickly, especially in the sunbelt cities. Flash forward a few years, and we believe the SFR homes space will more closely resemble multi-family real estate where leasing is happening with large companies instead of individual landlords. 2. Sunroom has amazing tech. We've proven we can lease faster and easier at scale. We're now ready to package our end-to-end leasing system and sell it to large funds instead of the realtors/brokers/property managers we've historically been selling to.

  • Analytical: Experienced diving into data to find answers to tough performance questions. You can use numbers to determine what processes should be reviewed and improved. You know how to think about reporting strategically.

  • Congenial: You're amazing at relationship management and have a sense of people that allows you to interact with a variety of different personality types.

  • Entrepreneurial: Excited by growing revenue by increasing both internal and client participation. Solve problems proactively rather than requiring only upon request.

  • Technical: You can build simple models, discuss technical issues with the product/engineering team, and think through operational details related to integrations. The details matter, and you don't let them get by you. You can ask questions about asset management and understand how property tech funds work.

Requirements


Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in enterprise-level single-family rental operations, analysis, or account management as a service provider or working for a principal.

  • You’ve worked in small teams responsible for growing institutional-grade businesses and had your responsibility increased while you worked there.

  • A demonstrated ability to provide critical feedback and then participate in the build and implementation of the solution within the B2B segment.

  • You are creative, logical, and proactive about achieving all goals and tracking metrics.

  • Your energy, passion, humor, compassion, and enthusiasm precede you.

  • Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred.
