Sunroom Rentals is a property-tech startup, headquartered in central Austin. At Sunroom we are responsible for leasing thousands of homes and apartments. We've created a platform that enables renters to self-tour properties and apply inside our app.

Our ideal Accounting Support Specialist serves a variety of critical functions for Sunroom partners and clients, first and foremost ensuring diligent follow up on outstanding commission collections.  This role may assist with a variety of other duties, including listing properties online, assisting renters and other Support team members in driving the tour & application process. This role requires delivering accounting support, and possibly also customer support and sales-adjacent activities. This position will work remotely from Mexico on a permanent basis.

What you'll be doing:

  • Accounting Support: As your primary focus, you’ll provide critical support to our Accounting team by driving collections on unpaid invoices. You’ll be following up by email and phone to collect outstanding commissions that are owed, and determining payment dates.

  • Property Listings & Client Support: As time allows, you may also assist with creating marketing descriptions for our Partners’ properties and list them on various external websites for promotion. You may also help our renters arrange property tours and apply for homes, communicating with renters by text, email and social media messaging.

Requirements

  • Full-Time: We're looking for candidates who will be willing to work full-time, 6 days a week (schedule TBD).
  • Bilingual: You are bilingual, fluent in both Spanish and English.
  • Tech-Savvy: You are comfortable using and learning new technology. We have developed world-class proprietary software with many automated processes to help you do your work efficiently! You are used to having multiple applications and windows open while you work.
  • Highly Organized: You are highly organized, and able to track multiple moving pieces in a high-volume environment.
  • Follow-Through: You have a strong practice of follow-through and take the actions that you say you will.
  • Adept Communicator: You are at ease communicating with renters and owners, whether via phone, email or text. You’re comfortable picking up the phone when needed.
  • Engaging and Empathetic: You are friendly, can easily interact with and engage potential renters. You understand the rewards as well as the challenges of the rental process from the renter’s perspective. You are also sensitive to the priorities of our owner partners, and provide them with thoroughly-vetted, high-quality rental candidates.
  • Proactive & Driven: You are driven to push for completion of the rental process, and you are not afraid to reach out by phone, text and email to potential renters.

Preferences:

  • Real Estate, Collections or Sales Experience: Experience with apartment or house leasing is a bonus, as is accounting/collections or sales-related experience!
  • Education: Completion of an accredited, four-year degree is preferred but not required.
